VACANCY – Finance Officer

The Ouse and Humber Drainage Board is responsible for the maintenance and management of over 260 miles of rivers and watercourses in East Yorkshire. The Board recently expanded its operations by taking over the management of four smaller neighbouring drainage boards near to the town of Goole.

As the Board undergoes a period of transition, we are looking for an experienced Finance Officer to work 18.5 hours a week to support the operation of our accounts and process our day-to-day transactions. The position is temporary for six months, with potential to be extended for further periods.

The successful candidate will have a good working knowledge of Accounting software (preferably Sage Accounts), and a proven track record of working in a finance / book keeping role. A positive attitude and an ability to work flexibly as part of a small team is also important.

The role comes with a competitive salary ranging from £27,228 to £30,120 (pro rata to 18.5 hours per week) subject to experience and qualifications, along with enrolment into the Local Government Pension Scheme.
