The Ouse and Humber Drainage Board is public body responsible for the maintenance and management of over 260 miles of rivers and watercourses in East Yorkshire, that also provides services to other Internal Drainage Boards and the Environment Agency. The Board’s work is essential for the effective management of flood risk infrastructure in the communities we serve.
During the apprenticeship the successful candidate will work with a dedicated team of operational, technical and professional staff to develop a wide-ranging knowledge of flood and water level management activities and will also spend time working with finance, policy and administration colleagues to gain an appreciation of the wider service areas of the Board.
The apprentice will be expected to complete a part time Level 3 Civil Engineering Technician course at a local college over 2 or 3 years.
The salary will meet the National Minimum Wage Requirements for Apprenticeships, the position will also qualify for the local government pension scheme. All college fees and reasonable expenses will be met.
